A Tale of Two Kickstarters

I was kind of obsessed with Kickstarter for a few months last year. The prospect of funding projects deemed too niche that might never see the light of day was novel. I backed sauces (even one that faced a full product recall after it was shipped) and more than a few board games I’ve barely touched but today, I got two e-mails within hours of each other that made me question why I ever put any money into Kickstarter projects. Ladies and gentlemen, I am a backer of two “bad” Kickstarter projects, projects that both sent significant “I’m Sorry” updates today: the Instacube from D2M and Broken Age from Double Fine.

E3 2013: Konami

With June begins one of my favourite weeks of the year. I mean, it’s not Christmas… it’s not the first week of summer or the first week of fall… but to me, it’s just as lovely. As you can probably tell by my Twitter musings, I’m a bit of a gamer. And being a gamer, E3 week is my Christmas – and it just started with a boom today.

He’s witty, brash and a little geeky with more honesty in his music than artists like Drake. The first of Donald Glover’s tracks this time around is “My Shine” from his 2011 EP. It’s a simple song just talking about what makes him shine… what makes him unique in an increasingly crowded field of non-traditional rappers.
